Meet Fuller

Our owner and lead trainer, Fuller, is a retired U.S. Army Green Beret and Special Operations Forces Multi-Purpose Canine (SOFMPC) handler with extensive experience developing high-performing canine teams for demanding real-world environments. During his time in service, he deployed overseas to train canine teams around the world and also served as his unit’s Lead Trainer, responsible for canine care, training standards, and handler development.

Highly trained by some of the best canine professionals in the world, Fuller blends that same results-driven, detail-oriented approach into every training program we offer. He focuses not just on the dog, but the relationship between the owner and pet by empowering both with the skills and confidence needed for long-term success.

Whether working with a family pet or high-drive working dog, our mission is the same: turn good dogs into great companions!

Meet Sparta

Sparta, Fuller’s retired working dog and proudly titled “Chief Product Tester,” is the heart and inspiration behind Spartan Canine Companions.

Fuller’s passion for dog training began when he was paired with Sparta, his first Multi-Purpose Canine. A high-drive dog that presented significant behavioral and performance challenges, she pushed him to dive deep into the art and science of dog training.

Working through those obstacles to develop a stellar working dog forged a deep respect for the dog–handler relationship and the importance of clear communication, consistency, and trust.

Following her retirement, Sparta transitioned into family life—proving that a well-trained dog can excel both on the job and at home. Calm, confident, and deeply loyal, she embodies the balance between structure and companionship. Sparta is a true member of the family.

Sparta’s journey is the foundation of our philosophy and the reason we believe every dog has the potential to be both capable and a deeply connected companion.

I brought my dog Luna here as a last hope. I had been told she was untrainable and had been failed by two other trainers in the past. Luna was impossible to get the ball back from after playing, would not listen, pulled so hard on the leash, and was just overall a very difficult dog. After Luna did the board and train it was like she was a new dog. I highly recommend this company. Fuller did what other trainers completely failed to do.
